PALFINGER is searching for a Paint Technician. This position is located in Trenton, NJ. This position reports to the Paint Supervisor. The Paint Technician performs skilled work in preparing metal and other surfaces on equipment for painting and in applying lacquers, primers, synthetic enamels, polyurethane, and epoxy with spray guns and other painting equipment; and does related work. Distinguishing Features: A Painter is responsible for proper preparation of surfaces and application of painting materials to a variety of exterior surfaces. A Painter spends a substantial portion of the work time spray painting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Removes accessories; masks glass, trim, and other parts not to be painted
  • Cleans, sands and prepares surfaces for painting 
  • Applies primer and finish coats to trucks and other equipment using lacquers and synthetic paints and enamels 
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. regularly in a safe manner and 100 lbs. occasionally from a floor or bench level to chassis or fixture/Jig
  • Physically capable to bend, reach, push, pull and put pedestals, carts, parts, frames and Chassis into position for Prepping and Priming. Ability to climb ladders to do work on the chassis by no more than 4’ off the ground.

Your Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or Eqivalent
  • Vocational or Technical Training in an automotive painting or related field strongly preferred
  • Practical Experience in automotive painting, including familiarity with painting techniques and the use of painting equipment
