To strengthen our team in Vienna, we are looking for an Embedded Linux Developer to integrate and continuously develop connectivity solutions in the context of the overall mechatronic system architecture of PALFINGER products. The Embedded Linux Developer closely collaborates with embedded software- and cloud development-teams as well as a wide range of internal and external partners. The role works as bridge-builder between embedded and cloud development areas and unlocks advanced features via the edge-compute possibilities of the Linux-based telematic device.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Analysis of structured requirements, as well as the creation and communication of implementation concepts

Design, plan, develop, test and integrate embedded Linux IoT solutions

Implement embedded Linux applications / services with defined software stack (C/C++, Python, Bash, …)

Orchestrate and manage internal and external development partners

Understand and monitor market developments and technology advancements. Define criteria to evaluate the introduction of new technology
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Completed education in a technical field such engineering, computer science, business informatics or comparable, and relevant initial work experience

Knowledge and experience with Linux technology stack and programming languages (e.g.: C/C++, Python, Bash, …).

Expertise in porting & maintaining a Linux distribution for an embedded devices (Yocto, BSP, kernel and driver development), contribution to OSS as an advantage

Communication strength, quality awareness, and team player mentality

Fluent in English, Willingness to travel within Austria (20%)

Minimum yearly gross salary according to Austrian metal industry collective agreement is EUR 52.197,04 based on full-time employment. According to experience and qualification, we offer a market-conform overpayment.
